I blend principles from cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness and acceptance based approaches to foster stress resilience. The skills I teach are evidence-based, present focused, and promote a balance between acceptance and change. I exhaustively studied the most empirically supported mindfulness-based treatments. For my dissertation, I replicated and extended a study on the common elements of the mindfulness-based treatments, which earned me the award for outstanding dissertation in the Azusa Pacific University Department of Graduate Psychology.
In regards to my clinical experience, I have worked with leading experts in the field on anxiety, OCD, trauma, and emotion dysregation. I am intensively trained in treatments, such as CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention for anxiety and OCD, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for emotion dysregulation, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for individuals coping with the effects of stressful life experiences, such as trauma, medical illness, academic and career pressure, and psychosis.
I carefully assess clinical problems using validated symptom measures and deliver targeted interventions with the ultimate goal of helping clients overcome barriers to rich and fulfilling lives.
